Above is a picture of my first attempt to file down the notch in a drive sprocket for Yard Official. The sprocket on the right is the stock sprocket, the left one is the filed version. I filed this using a few metal files. As with most things, the second attempt turned out better than the first, though it’s not depicted here.

Project Name: “The Yard Official”
Project Description:
This guy is going to start off as a large RC controlled cart. Once the initial kinks are worked out, we’ll incorporate more logic, attach a lawnmower and other yard care equipment as well as add sensors for object detection/avoidance.
The yard official will be powered by 2 24 volt wheelchair motors w/ chain drive. Like the Roseph project, differential drive steering will be used allowing for 360 degree turn radius. The expectation is 2 12v marine batteries will be needed for operation.
I’d like to get this to be controlled via an XBOX controller (on the dream list) and of course, mow the yard automatically. Should be fun seeing how far we can get.
